ABOUT THE NAJA SYMBOL - Naja is a genus of cobras and this symbol was adopted by the Navajo as a crescent form used in squash-blossom necklaces. In Paleolethic times, it has represented the Phoencian goddess of fertility and in the Book of Judges in the Bible, was worn as ornaments on camels' necks. The Moors used it in a horse's bridal to protect the horse and rider from the "evil eye".
